About

East Barkwith is a village and Civil Parish in the East Lindsay District of Lincolnshire and conveniently situated next to the A157 between Louth and Lincoln, approximately 13 miles north east of Lincoln and 8 miles from the town of Market Rasen. The village is nestled on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds, which is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).

East Barkwith has a bustling community with excellent amenities including Village Shop and Post Office, a traditional country pub ‘The Crossroads Inn’ that also serves food, a Village Hall and a play park. The village also has St Mary’s Church which is a Grade II listed building dating from the early 12 th Century. With good road, bus and rail links for commuters, the nearest train station being approximately 8 miles away in Market Rasen.

The village is only a 20 minute drive to the historic Cathedral and University City of Lincoln, which has a busy high street of shops and department stores, plus banking, multiplex Cinema, Marina and Art Galleries. The famous ‘Steep Hill’ leads to the uphill area of Lincoln and the Bailgate, with its quaint boutiques, restaurants, Lincoln Castle, Cathedral and Bishop Grosseteste University.
